The DBV Technologies internet site is the place to go for anyone suffering from some of our more widespread allergies. French company DBV Technologies has been researching and developing new approaches to defeating allergies for a number of years and it looks like those efforts are really starting to bear fruit.

This success comes in the shape of the Viaskin peanut, Viaskin egg and Viaskin milk patches. These are small patches that are worn on the patient’s skin (see the photograph below for an idea of just how small they are). Epicutaneous immunotherapy has been an avenue of research for different firms for some time, but DBV Technologies’ solution stands out for its simplicity of use. Traditionally, it has been difficult to treat children with allergies using the more classic methods of injections and oral drops – especially when dealing with very young patients who are not necessarily cooperative when faced with painful or messy treatments.
